My New Cell Phone Is Getting Unwanted Alerts From Live.Com. How Do I Stop It?

I just got a new cell phone from T-mobile.

The phone has been receiving regular updates by text messages about the highway traffic in a nearby major city. The alerts come from mobile.live.com.

Obviously, the previous "owner" of the cell phone number had signed up with Microsoft's live.com for traffic alerts. But, I could care less about the traffic on the highways. I certainly don't want to have to pay for numerous text messages sent to me everyday.

How do I stop these text messages?

I think you may have to text 'stop traffic updates' or 'stop' to the sender or 'stop traffic updates stop' maybe (sorry I cant remember exactly but I expect you get the drift)
